Anaerobic BioFilters

Tropicana AnaerobicHigh rate anaerobic reactors are commonly used in industrial wastewater treatment systems for treating especially high strength waste streams. Industries which produce such high BOD wastewater include soda bottling, rum distilling, breweries, food processing, dairy processing, and specialized chemical manufacturers, just to name a few. These anaerobic reactors are often large bolt-up steel tanks incorporating crossflow, vertical flow, or mixed structured sheet media. The media is fully submerged and the tank configuration can be upflow or downflow.

Brentwood manufactures structured sheet media for a variety of anaerobic wastewater treatment processes.

The anaerobic reactor at left is a Brentwood installation at the Bacardi rum distillery in Puerto Rico and the one above is at the Tropicana facility in Florida.
